Ms. Moynihan started studying
Asian costumes and textiles while working with street theatre
groups, musicians and folk artists in India for the Smithsonian's
Festival of India. She started CHOLI to create individual pieces
that allow women to enjoy the luxury and opulence of a sari,
blending the elegance of traditional textiles with the need to
move with more freedom. Working with a team of master tailors in
Kathmandu, CHOLI has developed modern patterns without
fundamentally altering the integrity and quality of each
individual textile. CHOLI offers ready-made garments as well as
custom-made orders to suit the buyer's color and design
preference.
